Alison Lam, neurodiverse, socially-engaged artist and Wilson So, East Asian illustrator and calligrapher bring you a unique collaboration: 

Otherness*: Embracing the Essence of Differences 

Individually Lam and So, both of East Asian origin, share a similar narrative: exploring being different and co-existing in the same space. This collaboration involves an interactive-call-and-response dialogue in the studio creating works such as So’s paintings (Eggo) responding to Lam’s wall sculptures and use of differing metals on black. Both artists use calligraphy exploring their shared cultural heritage.

This exhibition invites you to notice and appreciate “the state of being different” in a world where individuals, cultures and ideas are constantly changing.

*Otherness aka Othering, the quality or state of being other or different.
